Brownback has recently just been continuing to support John McCain for the presidency. He did however believe McCain would have some problems winning Kansas, and of course he ended up losing to Mike Huckabee. Although he knew this, Brownback said that if McCain did not win Kansas, he would blame himself. Brownback said, “If this is a loss, it’s my fault.” However, McCain's chances of winning were really not affected by Kansas, and Brownback feels as if his buddy McCain will easily win the nomination. Brownback has stated that he plans on helping McCain with his campaign in the upcoming weeks.

Brownback Update

In his home-state's caucus, Sam Brownback watched the candidate he endorsed, John McCain, lose in a landslide to Mike Huckabee. This result, however, came as no surprise to Brownback who originally forecast trouble for McCain in Kansas. He hypothesized that McCain is certainly more effective in Primaries, and in states where a lot of Independents and Moderates participate. It appears as though Brownback's theory was correct. The situation is very interesting because one of the most well liked men in Kansas has a different candidate then his people.

In my last update on Senator Brownback, I noted how the McCain campaign had enlisted Brownback in effort to gain more votes in Iowa.  Well now, Senator Brownback has endorsed presidential candidate John McCain.  When saying reasons why he is endorsing McCain, "John McCain has the character , values, and the experience to lead America starting on day one of his presidency.  I am proud to join the many Kansas who stand behind John McCain and will continue working hard to send him to the White House."  Lately, this is what Senator Brownback has been up to.  Being a helpful worker for McCain's campaign.  It should be interesting to see if Brownback can get his state to vote for McCain in the primary.

Brownback Update (January 14-J21)

Senetor Sam Brownback has continued his support for his fellow pro-life protector John Mccain. Brownback's support for Mccain only adds to his backing, and will surely help him when the Kansas election comes around.

Brownback Update Post New Hampshire

With Brownbacks support behind McCain it will be interesting to see if it effects the vote at all although most likely not because of the little amount of support Brownback had. What he did have will most likely show up in the south and if endorsing McCain does have any effects on the primaries, we will see it there.

Senator Brownback's name continues to be heard in the presidential race even with his withdrawal from the election.  Before the Iowa caucuses, presidential candidate John McCain enlisted Senator Brownback in an effort to gain more votes from the Catholic community.  McCain felt the need to call upon Brownback for help because it is believed that Christian conservatives do indeed effect the outcome of the caucus.   In response to helping McCain, Brownback described McCain as, "a genuine American hero with a conservative record who has what it takes to lead this country."
